What is Lymphatic Massage?

Lymphatic Massage is an effective way to reduce acute or chronic swelling, improve general circulation, and help eliminate toxins via the Lymphatic System.  The Lymphatic System is essentially our body’s sewage system, so we want this system healthy and functioning! Karen is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT). She is currently providing 60 or 90 minute sessions of Lymphatic Massage, usually combined with other specialized techniques to best help with swelling and mobility issues. Essential oils can also enhance the therapeutic effect of the Lymphatic Massage. One such method is by using the Essential Life Technique®.

WHAT IS ESSENTIAL LIFE TECHNIQUE®?

Essential Life Technique is a gentle and precise application of essential oils to engage and accelerate the function of the Lymphatic System. It was created by Michele Nelson, affiliated with the Lymphatic Technology Institute. This technique, in addition to Bowenwork, are the most requested treatments Karen offers. It is a full body treatment using essential oils chosen for each body part to help encourage lymphatic flow. The combination of the calming lymphatic massage with the essential oils, helps the body get into a parasympathetic state (or rest and digest). We cannot truly heal if we are functioning in a fight or flight state; so using calming techniques like the Essential Life Technique® help our nervous system “downshift” and achieve a rest and digest state. We can then detox, digest food more effectively, allow structural changes to occur within a session, decrease stress/anxiety, and feel overall more balanced.
